AQA

PROJECT OVERVIEW

THE PROBLEM

AQA, formerly the Assessment and Qualifications Alliance, is an awarding body in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. It compiles specifications and holds examinations in various subjects at GCSE, AS and A Level and offers vocational qualifications. AQA is a registered charity and independent of the government.

Seeking to improve performance of their campaign pages, focusing on key KPIs such as resource downloads. Additionally, improving user feedback on these pages.

THE OUTCOME

92.3% of users found the page's content useful

400% increase in resource downloads

I was unable to conduct primary research during the discovery phase for these projects so I conducted secondary research using HotJar and Google Analytics findings from previous similar campaigns. Additionally, I also conducted usability testing internally with colleagues.

THE PROCESS

PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

RESEARCH

For my ideation during this project I utilised Figjam as well as Figma.

I created artefacts such as user flows, user stories and information architecture maps; as can be seen below.

In addition to this; I also created low-fidelity wireframes. In these wireframes I prioritised video content.

IDEATION

Due to a KPI change for this particular campaign I was required to change the page’s design to prioritise resources downloads as opposed to video views.

As a result; the high fidelity wireframes are largely different to the low fidelity.

I designed the entirety of this page; aside from certain assets such as image thumbnails.

The icons on this page were created by myself due to the brand agency we liaised with during this project failing to provide an icon pack.

DESIGN

Overall, this campaign was successful; with 92.3% of users surveyed responding that they found the page’s content useful alongside a 400% increase in resource downloads.
